Preset Mode
New for HeatMap Theme v2.2
When you first install HeatMap Theme it will start up in Preset mode, so new users can see what the vanilla installation looks like with some ad blocks and widgets already in place. Most users will want to switch off Preset Mode as soon as you have had a look around.
HELP!!! I’ve switched off Preset Mode and now I see no title in the header and no sidebars!
Relax. HeatMap Theme is widget based. You need to assign some widgets to the sidebar widget positions before anything appears there! All the default WordPress widgets are styled up in HeatMap theme for easy use in your sidebars.
The blog title and tagline are are also switched off by default (as many people prefer to place logo in the header bar instead). If you want the title and tagline to show in your header you will find that setting in the HeatMap Options page.
Its important to note that Preset Mode does not change any of the settings on your blog.
When you first enter the HeatMap Theme options page you will see a message informing you that the Preset Mode is active. Turn off preset mode from the settings at the top of the options page. You may activate Preset Mode again at any time, but please note that the switch for Preset Mode moves from the top of the options page to the bottom when it is not activated.
Bonus for Advanced Users
Preset mode also adds extra flexibility to HeatMap Theme by allowing those who prefer to make modifications through php scripting to change the theme sidebar and ad blocks. All the code related to the preset sidebar is in the file preset.php.
