Known Issues
HELP!!! I’ve switched off Preset Mode and now I see no title in the header and no sidebars!
Relax. HeatMap Theme is widget based. You need to assign some widgets to the sidebar widget positions before anything appears there! All the default WordPress widgets are styled up in HeatMap theme for easy use in your sidebars.
The blog title and tagline are are also switched off by default (as many people prefer to place logo in the header bar instead). If you want the title and tagline to show in your header you will find that setting in the HeatMap Options page.
CHILD THEMES - IMPORTANT:
Make sure the directory in which your HeatMap theme is installed is named ‘heatmaptheme’. If it is named ‘heatmap-adsense-theme’ then please rename it to heatmaptheme otherwise the child theme will not work! Please don’t use the WordPress Theme uploader for the Child Theme Colour Pack or individual child themes. You will need to unzip the colour pack first and then upload each of the child themes individually to you wp-content/themes directory.
Common.php and Preset.php not overriding properly in child themes
A workaround is now available on the HeatMap Insider Forum.
For CSS perfectionists… (fixed in Version 2.2)
Version 2.1 currently has an erroneous extra semicolon in style.css at line 128:
{ margin:0 0 0 1.5em; ;}
Delete the extra semicolon. I’ll eliminate it in the next update. (Thanks Jeremy)
Truncated Page Text when viewing extremely long pages using IE
This issue appears because of a declaration in style.css which reads max-height: 9999px;
This is actually a work around for column height bugs in ie6, however, it may cause very very long pages to have their text truncated. You can remove it if you wish, but you might get issues with column heights in Internet Exploder.
My suggestion is to use the more tag so your home page is not so long and nextpage for extremely long posts…at least until I have a fix (your page does have to be very very long though to see actually see this ie bug).
Page Navigation text truncated when using long page names and ie6 & ie7.
Fix – Add an extra declaration to your child theme style.css – setting the width of #nav-bar ul to make it the same width as #nav-bar.

Ask Apache 404 Plugin
The plugin generates a ‘content’ css class which is the same as one similarly named in Heatmap Theme. Results in the results looking strange. Rename the ‘content’ div to something else in the 404 plugin options HTML section. You also might need to change the ‘width’ declaration to 950px in the same spot.
404 not found errors when clicking on pages
Set up your pretty permalinks (Settings -> Permalinks -> Custom Structure – Change the field to /%postname%/ or whatever permalink structure takes your fancy.) More about permalinks here.

Permalinks on IIS
They may need some slightly different handling. This is not really related to HeatMap Theme but seeing as people are asking, you need to read the reference to IIS permalinks here. (Thanks Robert)
The more-text custom field
The more-text custom field is not implemented for the ‘featured page’ feature. I’m thinking about the future of this whole feature, but if I keep it, I’d like the more-text field to be implemented (its not at the moment)
