Google Adsense Custom Search

HeatMap theme has the option to include a Google Adsense Custom Search Page.
HeatMap Options -> Google Custom Adsense Search
If you leave these options blank then the standard WordPress search will appear on your blog instead.
Here are the steps to setting up a Google Adsense Custom Search Page:
- Log into your Google Adsense Account and go to Adsense Setup
- Create a Google Adsense Search Box…
- Make sure the search type specifies only the URL of your website
- Use the default search box – the one that needs Javascript
- Set the ‘text box length’ to a smaller number – try 28 or smaller (if the width is too large the search button will go out of alignment).
- Select ‘Open Results within my own site’
- Make the return url http://yourblog.com/google-results
- Set the width to 950px
Then pop back to you WordPress Admin:
- Set up your pretty permalinks (Settings -> Permalinks -> Custom Structure – Change the field to /%postname%/ ) More about permalinks here.
- Create a new page and name it google-results
- Change the template setting of the page to ‘Google Search Results’
Note there are two bits of code to paste (1) The adsense search code (2) The adsense results code.
- Cut and paste the code generated by the Google Adsense Setup into the HeatMap Theme options page
